Confirmed: Liverpool FC Completes Midfielder transfer

Liverpool midfielder Conor Coady signs for Huddersfield Town on a three year deal.
Liverpool have confirmed that 21 year old midfielder Conor Coady has signed for Huddersfield Town on a three year deal.

The highly rated Englishman failed to make the grade at Anfield and only had two senior team appearances for the Reds from Merseyside. His only full debut came in the Europa League tie away at Anzhi Makachkala in November 2012.

Though the transfer fee is yet to be disclosed, BBC believes that it is around £375,000. the report claims that Coady could make his Huddersfield debut in the coming Saturday’s home encounter against Bournemouth.

Huddersfield manager Mark Robins was pleased with the club’s new acquisition saying, “We know all about his qualities and we are delighted that we can welcome him to Huddersfield Town.”

“Conor will come in and make an immediate impact on our First Team, but at 21 years old he still has the capacity to improve further. Every reference – from Brendan Rodgers to Nigel Clough and throughout the Liverpool technical staff – paid testament to his professionalism and leadership qualities.”

Top 10 HOT WAGS Of Liverpool Players

Footballers sure do have a fantastic life. They don’t need to grow up and get a 9-5 job to earn a living, they just keep on playing the game they have loved over the years. They make a ton of money throughout their career, at least the players in the European leagues do. They all live in large, expensive houses and drive fast, shiny cars. To top it all off, they even get the hottest girlfriends to boot.

As part of a new series, here are the Top 10 WAGs (Wifes and Girlfriends) of Liverpool FC.

10: Sofia Balbi – Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez is one of the best strikers in the world currently and for every goal he scores, he celebrates it by kissing his wrist. His daughter’s name is tattooed on his wrist and it also signifies his love for his wife, Sofia Balbi.

Sofia and Luis even maintained a long distance relationship when he started playing in Europe for Groningen. They got married in 2009 and were blessed with a girl in 2010, who they named “Delfina”, an anagram of Anfield.

9: Yolanda Ruiz – Pepe Reina

The Spanish goalkeeper certainly has got his hands full at home, if not on the field. He married his long-time girlfriend Yolanda in 2006 and now has 4 children for company. Certainly one or two of them could become footballers and be part of the next generation of Spanish superstars.

8: Aine – Philippe Coutinho

The newest member of the Liverpool team and one of the youngest players in the starting XI, Coutinho is already married to his long-time girlfriend, (is this a trend in the LFC team?), Aine.

7: Sophie Nelson – Daniel Agger

Yet again, another Liverpool player married to his longtime girlfriend. The Danish centerback married his girlfriend Sofia Nelson in 2010 and has two children. The couple even wore matching white outfits during the wedding.

6: Barbora Lovasova - Martin Skrtel

The Terminator of the Liverpool squad and Daniel Agger’s partner in defense, Martin Skrtel also married his long-time girlfriend Barbora Lovasova in Slovakia in 2012. The couple look great and for some reason both have that steely Slovakian grit and no nonsense attitude etched on their faces. Surely a couple made for one another!

5: Laura Johnson – Glen Johnson

Johnson, the Liverpool rightback, sure does have a scorcher of a right foot and pace. He also has a scorcher of a wife, Laura.

4: Michaela Henderson Thynne – Stewart Downing

The England winger could not score for Liverpool for quite a while and was often the butt of many jokes, but he sure did score with this one. Michaela was a former contestant for an online reality show called WAG’s Boutique; I guess you can make out what the show was about. Alas, some stories don’t end well and while Stewart has started scoring goals for Liverpool, the couple have now broken up.

3: Shana Ann Rose HallidayRaheem Sterling

Don’t worry, its just one girl’s name. Shana (let’s call her that) is the current girlfriend of Raheem Sterling. After the furore regarding Sterling having had two children from two different women, it’s nice to see what all the fuss was about. Shana won a beauty pageant and also won a modelling contract at an event held in the UK.

2: Dani Lawrence – Brad Jones

Brad Jones is Liverpool’s 2nd choice keeper and his wife comes in at number 2 in this list. Dani Lawrence is a trained physiotherapist and took part in the Great North Run (The 2nd largest half marathon in the world). All we can say is that she sure can take care of Brad whenever he is injured.

1: Alex Curran – Steven Gerrard

I don’t think there was any doubt who was going to be number one on the list. Wife of current LFC captain, Steven Gerrard, Alex Curran is a leading WAG along with Victoria Beckham and Coleen Rooney. Apart from doing modelling assignments, Alex has a fragrance in her name and has written columns for leading newspapers.

The  couple were married in 2007 and have three daughters.

Balotelli to Liverpool???

Sport Mediaset claim Milan are in talks with Liverpool to sell Mario Balotelli for just £14.3m.

The rumours of Liverpool interest went into overdrive ahead of their International Champions Cup match when Brendan Rodgers praised Balo in his Press conference.

Now Italian media maintain agent Mino Raiola is already in contact with the Premier League club to discuss wages.

Milan CEO Adriano Galliani had said Balotelli was “99.999 per cent” likely to stay, but this phrase has also been used before other transfers.

According to Sport Mediaset, Balo’s price-tag has plummeted over the summer to just €18m (£14.3m).

The Rossoneri aim to use that money and reinvest it in Torino winger Alessio Cerci, who is also a target for AS Monaco.

Balotelli has found life in Italy even tougher than at Manchester City with a more unforgiving Press.

“I made a mistake bringing Mario back to Italy,” said agent Raiola after the World Cup fall-out, when Balotelli’s attitude and abilities were under attack.

Arsenal Boss mocks Steven Gerrard

Arsenal boss mocks Liverpool captain over comments on £75m star.
Arsene Wenger has hit back at Steven Gerrard's claims over Luis Suarez.

Arsene Wenger has had his say over Steven Gerrard's words to Luis Suarez, which urged him not to sign for Arsenal last summer.

The Liverpool captain was reported by SkySports this week to have said: "Last summer when he was out in the cold and training on his own that's the conversation I had with him. I said, 'Don't go to Arsenal'.

"With all due respect to them, I said to him that he was too good for Arsenal.

"For me, I would have been really sad and disappointed to see Luis go to Arsenal."

At his afternoon press conference ahead of the Emirates Cup, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was quizzed over the comments, and was quick to put Gerrard down.

The Frenchman even took a dig at Liverpool's failure to win the league last season with the Uruguayan.

"You're never too good for Arsenal and Steven Gerrard knows that.

"But I can understand completely that he asked him to stay because he wanted him to play with him and have a chance to win the Premier League. But it didn't happen, and anyway, Suarez left."

Wenger is clearly buoyant with his club's summer transfer business, beating Liverpool to Alexis Sanchez, confident they are moving upwards, while Liverpool are fighting to stay still after Suarez's £75 million sale.

By taking a pot shot at Gerrard's failure to win the league title, the one trophy which has eluded him at club level, the Arsenal boss hit the Englishman where it hurts the most, when that wound is still raw. Yet Wenger is showing he is in no mood for Arsenal to be belittled, and having snapped up players from Real Madrid and Barcelona over the past 12 months, it's easy to see why.

What do you make of Wenger's comments on Gerrard?

ARSENAL BOUND? Alvaro Arbeloa,
ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger is targeting a deal for Real Madrid full-back Alvaro Arbeloa.
The Spain international has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt, having turned out for Liverpool before his move to Madrid, with whom he won the Champions League last season.
Wenger is looking to increase his defensive options, having seen Bacary Sagna and Carl Jenkinson leave the club in recent weeks, and he feels that the experienced full-back will be a real asset to his squad.

Falcao will replace Suarez

John Aldridge: 'Radamel Falcao Should Replace Luis Suarez at Liverpool'

Falcao's season was cut short due to injury last term (Reuters)
Monaco forward Radamel Falcao should be the main contender to replace Luis Suarez at Liverpool, according to former striker John Aldridge.

The Reds failed to complete a deal to sign Loic Remy after the France international reportedly failed a medical leaving manager Brendan Rodgers to consider other targets.

Divock Origi has joined from Lille but will spend the coming season on loan at the Ligue 1 side, leaving Liverpool short up front and Aldridge says Falcao, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, should be targeted.

"Personally I would like to see a full-back, a real classy full back who can inspire them," Aldridge said. "Moreno, I don't whether they can prize him away and pay lots of money.

"And a striker. I thought Remy for £8.5m was a very shrewd buy but it's fallen through for whatever reason, so Liverpool do need another striker in my opinion should something happen.

"Who is out there? Falcao, they're saying he had a horrendous season last year; he was a bit part of the player he was last season. If he can get back to where he was the previous season then he would be one wouldn't he?"

Falcao joined Monaco last season in a £50m deal from Atletico Madrid but failed to recapture the form that made him among the most feared forwards in world football, scoring just nine league goals during an injury-hit season.

Real, who added Falcao's former team-mate James Rodriguez to their squad this summer, have been rumoured with making a move for the Colombian international who missed the World Cup with a serious knee problem.

Liverpool do have Daniel Sturridge to lead their attack for the forthcoming season but with Fabio Borini's future uncertain and Adam Lallana set to miss the start of the season with a knee injury, the club are keen to reinforce the area.

New York friendly: LFC beat Man City on penalties

New York friendly: LFC beat Man City on penalties

Man City 2-2 Liverpool
Friendly Guiness International Champions Cup
Yankee Stadium, New York (USA)
Thu 31st July 2014 1:00 am

The score was 2-2 at full time ensuring this 'International Champions Cup' went to penalties.

The goals began to flow in the second half - Stefan Jovetic grabbing both Man City goals, but the reds equalised twice.  First thanks to a Jordan Henderson strike and then via Raheem Sterling.

Henderson's equaliser on the hour was a brilliant curled strike - his improvement in goalscoring last season was one of the positive aspects of the season.

Sterling's goal was more straightforward - slotted past Joe Hart after a set-up by Lucas.

Sturridge and Lambert were both guilty of wasted chances and concerns can continue to be raised about Liverpool's left and right back positions - it was no surprise that both Man City's goals were built from movements down the wings - Navas involved for both.

So penalties ensued - and Emre Can, Lucas Leiva and Jordan Henderson all scored to ensure the reds went top of the group ahead of the final game against AC Milan.

Teams:

Liverpool: Jones (Mignolet 46), Kelly (Johnson 46), Toure, Coates (Sakho 76), Enrique (Robinson 46), Gerrard (Lucas 75), Coutinho, Allen (Can 65), Henderson, Sturridge, Lambert (Sterling 46).

Manchester City: Caballero (Hart 46), Clichy (Richards 70), Boyata, Nastasic, Kolarov, Navas, Fernando, Zuculini, Milner (Sinclair 46), Jovetic (Toure 70), Dzeko (Iheanacho 46).

Daniel Agger's future in doubt at Anfield

Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger looks set to complete a £12million move to Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish newspaper believe talks are ongoing between Catalan giants Barcelona and Liverpool over the possibility of Agger swapping Anfield for the Nou Camp.

Denmark international Agger has been stringently linked with a move to Barcelona during the last two summer transfer windows and it now looks as if he could finally seal a move to La Liga giants.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has identified the 29-year-old as the ideal man to replace long-serving centre-back Carles Puyol, who decided to hang up his boots at the end of last season, and form a parnership with Gerard Pique.

Agger's proposed move to Spain could be accelerated this week as Liverpool new boy Dejan Lovren is likely to replace the former Brondby defender.

Marco Rues to Anfield or Old trafford

Marco Rues rejects contract renewal

MARCO REUS remains open to a move to Manchester United or Liverpool this summer after turning down an offer of a new contract at Borussia Dortmund.    Marco Reus is attracting interest from Liverpool and Manchester United[GETTY]
The player's agent Dirk Hebel claims that it is normal for big teams to be interested in his client because he has the capacity to make any side better.

However, Hebel says his client is more interested in making a full recovery from the injury that ruled him out of the World Cup than chasing a big-money move.

"Marco would make any big European team stronger," Hebel was quoted as saying by Bild.

"That's why it's completely normal that a number of these major European teams are interested in signing him".

Liverpool Agree Fee and Personal Terms for Bayern Munich Star

According to reports, Liverpool have met Bayern Munich’s £17m valuation of Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

Liverpool have apparently also agreed personal terms with the young star, meaning that a move to Anfield appears imminent for the talented midfielder.

Shaqiri had reportedly been willing to stay and fight for his place at the Allianz Arena, however Pep Guardiola refused to give him the assurances of first team action that he was looking for.

Rodgers, on the other hand, has been pursuing Shaqiri for months, and it would appear that he has finally got his man.

£17m would still represent a significant profit for Bayern, who only paid £9m for his services from Basel two years ago.

It is believed that the Swiss international has agreed terms on a four year contract, ending months of speculation that Atletico Madrid and Juventus might be in for the player.

Carragher : Liverpool didnt want me

Carragher : Liverpool didnt wanted me
29 July 2014

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said the club made no effort to retain his services in an off-field role.

Carragher represented the Merseyside club 737 times from 1996 to 2013, including 508 league appearances.

However, the one-club stalwart and local product was not asked to remain at the club in a coaching or advising role, and said he was "embarrassed" during his final season.

"I was never offered a role by someone else or at Liverpool," Carragher told The Anfield Wrap podcast.

"I told [manager] Brendan Rodgers 12 months before the end of that season that I was finishing. I knew I was finishing. I'd had enough of being a substitute.

"I said to Brendan 'I understand [Daniel] Agger and [Martin] Skrtel are your first choice, I want to help you as much as possible as a manager. I want to play, if I play well obviously I'd love to play, of course' and I got back into the team which was a brilliant ending for me.

"But he knew then that I was actually close to jacking it in halfway through the season just because I wasn't involved. I was embarrassed training every day."

And Carragher, now a pundit with Sky Sports, said his chances of returning to Anfield on a permanent basis were small.

"I don't think I'll ever move home, if I'm honest, so the chances of being a manager or a coach dwindle a bit there as I wouldn't be moving my family around this country, let alone Europe or whatever," he said.

"Who knows in the future but I'm enjoying what I'm doing."

Dejan Lovren completes Anfield switch

Dejan Lovren completes Anfield switch

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has praised his new signing, saying his leadership will boost their title hopes
Brendan Rodgers has hailed £20million Dejan Lovren as the man who can lead Liverpool to glory.
The classy Croatian defender has finally completed his switch from Southampton, after agreeing a five-year deal worth around £50,000-a-week.
And an excited Rodgers reckons Lovren is the defensive leader his side were lacking last season as frailties at the back eventually cost them dearly in the title race.
"He is very commanding and has great leadership qualities. He's a front foot defender.
"He's aggressive, he goes and attacks the ball," the Reds boss said.
"He's a good character and he can play.
"But first and foremost a defender has to be able to defend and he can defend."
Rodgers has spent the whole summer in pursuit of the Saints defender, and believes his patience is justified because he will make a massive difference.
"We need to be better. The attacking side has nothing to do with the team conceding stupid goals," he added.
"We conceded a lot of poor goals due to bad individual mistakes. That is something that leadership can certainly help with."
Lovren is likely to join up with Liverpool in Charlotte this week, for the last leg of their American tour.
